Chris Eschbach



Chris has an athletic background and a PhD in Exercise Physiology. He prioritizes accountability through regular check-ins and goal tracking, fostering motivation and success.

Honest, realistic, sustainable long term healthy fitness and nutrition are his goals for everyone.

Chris coaches CrossFit and oversees the 12th State Nutrition program where he guides individualized nutrition coaching for success using a common sense approach.  That approach is supported by scientific and applied aspects of wellness, weight loss, fitness, and sport performance with  the goal of providing a low stress path to success related to nutrition and health goals.

Prior to his nutrition and coaching focus he was the director of the biometrics laboratory at Valencell Incorporated, Chris oversaw a research team that created and validated wearable devices for other companies.  Leading into his career in wearable technology Chris was a college professor, teaching and conducting research in exercise physiology and nutrition. As part of his research, Chris has conducted physiological assessments on hundreds of athletes.  He also has performed body composition assessments on thousands of individuals, helping them to guide their nutrition and body composition goals.

Chris has an athletic background as a Division I swimmer and professional triathlete.  He started CrossFit in 2011 out of a desire to fulfill his need to remain in a competitive athletic environment.

Chris has held certifications from CrossFit (L1, L2, and endurance), American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting, and USA Triathlon.
